The 5 AM Club – Yay or Nay?

The early morning hours are praised as one sure way to sneak in some much-needed me-time, spark long-lost creativity, and boost your productivity.

The main notion is that the stillness of the world helps you get ahead in life. Many swear it’s the secret of their success.

However, is the 5 AM Club a one-size-fits-all solution – and is everyone destined to be a morning bird?

Read on to decide whether waking up at dawn is really the right solution for you and the lifestyle you have!

The perks of waking up early

Not sure why 5 AM is a big deal? Here’s why most people do it!

  • More time to think, work and create

Let’s face it – great ideas rarely light up after a long day at work.

Mornings are ideal not only to reflect and journal but to actually get some work done, most of the time, with zero distractions.

Word has it, creative juices just flow differently in the morning!

  • Less stressful start of the day

A stressful morning paves the path to an even more stressful day ahead.

Just imagine how life-changing can be if you were to start the day well-rested, relaxed… and happy?

Suddenly, being a morning person doesn’t sound as bad!

  • Improved sleep habits

Waking up at 5 AM takes some real determination.

But to make this work in the long run, you’ll be required to really fix – and commit! – to your sleeping schedule. And most of the time, that means getting your FULL eight hours of sleep per night.

After all, you can’t be productive if you’re seriously sleep-deprived.

Before you decide to join the 5 AM Club…

…make sure you take your current lifestyle supports early mornings.

Let’s say, if you work night shifts, then depriving yourself of sleep won’t really help you witness any of the life-transforming benefits.

Join the 5 AM Club

Here’s how to get started and join millions of people who wake up at 5 AM.

  • Two ways to get started

Either move your waking hours slowly – 15 minutes per day – until you reach your desired wake time… or go cold turkey and set the alarm at 5 AM tomorrow.

You pick based on what you think works best for your character and lifestyle.

Also, give yourself – and your body! – some time to adjust. It may take a few weeks before you’re fully enjoying your early mornings.

  • Know immediately what you want to do

Waking up at 5 AM just because won’t really help you, if you just spend the time on your phone.

On top of that, motivation can be a tricky thing to rely upon, especially that early.
Instead, plan what exactly you’re going to do once the alarm goes off. It’s going to help you move out of bed much, much faster!

Let’s say, if you plan on working out, have your clothes laid out. If you plan on getting some writing done, have a pen and paper ready.

What’s your take – is waking up at 5 AM or earlier worth it?
